A roadside food stall in India’s Allahabad city regularly attracts
hundreds of spectators who come to see the chef’s astonishing cooking
feat - dipping his bare hands into boiling hot oil to remove fried
fritters. The 60-year-old cook, Ram Babu, can insert and remove his
bare hands into searing cooking oil heated up to 200 degrees Celsius,
unscathed.
Ram, who has started to sell fried potato and eggplant wedges at the age of 20, said he stopped using kitchen utensils and instead started removing the fries with his hands after he mistakenly put his bare hands into the pan of bubbling oil and surprisingly found no burns or injury whatsoever over 40 years ago.
